I was born in Plzen, Czech Republic on the 5th of Septrember 1986 and
started my shooting career as a young kid shooting an air-gun with my
father on the backyard
of my parents' house. In the age of twelve I enrolled the local archery
shooting team, soon after I switched to .22 rifle and pistol bull's-eye
shooting.
In 2001 my father brought me to LEIKO shooting range where I got the first oppotunity in my life to shoot a real "big boom" gun.
I had visited this range almost every day since then and shot with 'guns for rent' under a restraint of an instructor.
In 2002 I registerd to the Practical Shooting Association of the
Czech Republic and started to shoot IPSC with a big help of Mr. Roman
Sedy,
an instructor of the LEIKO shooting range.
I trained hard and set my goals in Practical Shooting high. Especially
thanks to my parents, I could go towards my goals and accomplish my
very first medal
in my shooting career; it was a bronze one from the 2002 Czech
Nationals in the Standard-Junior division.
One year after,
at the Czech Nationals were yet more successful to me as I obtained the
silver medal in the Standard division overall,
although I was using a Glock 34 in 9mm Luger and so was handicaped with
points reduction.
In 2004 I first "tasted" the Production division; the division in which
you use regular "out of the box" guns that you can buy in any gunshop.
This year was a year of "my dreams coming true" as my hard training
changed not only into numerous wins all ove
r the Europe but also to my first National Champion title and to two
gold medals from the European Championships, one in individuals and one
in national teams.
After my accomplishments at the Europeans Mr. Milan Trkulja, the
manager of the Ceska Zbrojovka shooting team,
offered me a contract with one of the biggest smallarms manufacturers -
The Ceska Zbrojovka Uhersky Brod - and showed me a brand new model of
the world's famous CZ 75, the CZ 75 SP 01.
Since the end of 2004 I have shot with, in my opinion, one of the best
pistols ever made and have competed at IPSC matches all over the world.
My very first win with the CZ 75 SP 01 was in Poland five days after
switching from Glock; my another win was at the international
Australasian Championships in Bali,
Indonesia that year.
In 2005 I've accomplished something that was far beyond my goals. I've
returned back home from the South American Ecuador with three gold
medals,
which were the very maximum amount I could get; I won the Production
division overall, Junior category and with a perfect team also the
National Teams category.
I've kept up with my winning line by obtaining another National Champion's title in 2006.
For all of my accomplishments I honestly thank not only to all my sponsors but also to my parents, Mr. Roman Sedy
and last but not least to Mr. Milan Trkulja from the Ceska Zbrojovka Uhersky Brod.
Thank you for your support!
I would also like to thank to Mrs. Katerina Vanova, the Deputy Chair of
the New Anglo-American College located in the Prague's historic Mala
Strana just a few steps far away from the famous Charles' Bridge. I
have studied Business Administration at this college since 2006.
